We have heard from Charenton, LA.  Fr. John had been calling over there since Rita hit closer to there than did Katrin.  For quite a few days, either the phone lines were not working or there was just the answering machine.  However, we eventually got a message from Whitney who works there that Fr. Bill Crumley went on vacation before Rita came, and so he is doing fine.  There is some flooding in the area, but the church had very little damage.  One of the windows blew out, but there was no flooding or roof damage.

Sr. Lily Martinez has arrived from Los Angeles (where she professed vows) and then Monterrey, Nuevo León (where she was visiting her family).  She will be living with the other Sisters of the Holy Cross at the East Side Drive house, with Sr. Ann Monica Nguyen and Sr. Judy Murphy.  (Gosh, if they opened up a pancake house, what might they call it??)
