Fr. John Korcsmar is working on the Justice for Immigrants Campaign for the Diocese of Austin.  On Friday the 13th, Mr. Mark Franken, executive director of the Migration and Refugee Services Department for the USCCB, spoke at Dolores Church about the work of MRS and of the Justice for Immigrants Campaign in particular.

 
Ms. Leslie Heilkamp introduces a speaker, a young newly married woman, a U.S. citizien,  who is separated from her husband.   After she married her husband, they filed for papers so that they could live together legally in the U.S.  While at the U.S. embassy, they discovered that there is a 10 year penalty for having been in the U.S. without documents.
 
Father John tells it like it is.   There were about 60 people in attendance.
 
Mr. Mark Franken addresses the group.   Ms. Leslie Heilkamp and Ms. Cynthia Colbert (exectuive director of Catholic Charities), with the staff of the Immigrant Concerns Offices, Fr. John, and Mark Franken.
