Sr. Lili Martínez has been working with St. Barbara Church in Hornsby Bend. First she worked with them to get them to join Austin Interfaith and pay dues. Then she worked with them to get water for the families there. Many of them had been using wells for water, but when a larger development was built, the development dug deeper wells and left little or none for the families.
Although the water company had said that it would be too expensive to run a water line over there, Lili arranged a meeting with the vice-president of the water company at the church. Then she and the leaders of the church were able to convince them to hook them up to the water line. Congratulations, Sr. Lili, Austin Interfaith, and St. Barbara!
