The beloved pastor works very hard. He has meetings to go to, people to meet, decisions to make, etc. One day he returned home early and this is what he found at the rectory:

In case you never hear from the provincial again, the two above are the two most likely candidates as the ones who killed him. A jury will have to decide whether he had it coming.

The
vocation directors from the U.S. provinces gathered in Austin for their
annual meeting. They reviewed their plans, including the
advertising. They have been in the Vocation Guide and Vision.
Some of the provinces will start advertising vocation literature
bilingually in ¡Oye!, a publication targeting Hispanics. There was
a discussion as to how they could relate better to one another and to
the general commission on vocations and formation. After an
evening and then a full-day of meeting they were treated to a wonderful
dinner at the South-West Province Center, cooked by
Brother Robert LeGros. |

Some
of the permanent deacons in the Austin South Deanery met at Dolores
Parish. They discussed how they felt that their ministry was
going. They also discussed what would be need to prepare for the
future. One of the areas was to prepare some people for work as
pastoral administrators; another idea was to prepare more lay people who
could be business administrators to handle more of the business
operations of parishes and missions. |
