At the week-end Masses, we celebrated the beatification of two of the Franciscan (Franciscanas Hijas de Misericordia) who were beatified in Rome.  Sister Miquaela and Sister Catalina are now blessed; they were among the almost 500 martyrs from Spain who were beatified.

The two sisters Sr. Olivia explains about the Sisters.

On Sunday we continued with the presentations on finances.  At the Spanish Masses, the leadership group did a telenovela.  Sister Carlota and Luz Smith were the stars.  Every time Martha Castillo said, "Y de repente sonó el timbre," the congregation responded: "Ding dong."

Sr. Carlota and Luz chat in the Dolores church office. Cristina la Chismosa brings in a bill for the church that was mis-directed to her house.
All novelas have tears.  Sr. Carlota and Luz cry over the big bills. When Sr. Carlota teaches, everyone listens!
"Dios proverá y la gente ayudará." The letter carrier delivers another bill!

Luis Alberto Cásarez, a transitional deacon, came to thank the people for their support of Catholic Services Appeal, the seminary collection, and Our Faith Our Legacy.

Luis belongs to a diocese in Colombia.  However, he is studying at St. Mary's Seminary in Houston.  He is scheduled to be ordained a priest next June.  He will serve in the Diocese of Austin for four years and then return to Colombia.
