At the week-end Masses, we celebrated the beatification of two of the Franciscan (Franciscanas Hijas de Misericordia) who were beatified in Rome. Sister Miquaela and Sister Catalina are now blessed; they were among the almost 500 martyrs from Spain who were beatified.

On Sunday we continued with the presentations on finances. At the Spanish Masses, the leadership group did a telenovela. Sister Carlota and Luz Smith were the stars. Every time Martha Castillo said, "Y de repente sonó el timbre," the congregation responded: "Ding dong."

Luis Alberto Cásarez, a transitional deacon, came to thank the people for their support of Catholic Services Appeal, the seminary collection, and Our Faith Our Legacy.
Luis belongs to a diocese in Colombia. However, he is studying at St. Mary's Seminary in Houston. He is scheduled to be ordained a priest next June. He will serve in the Diocese of Austin for four years and then return to Colombia. |
