Father David Scheidler took this picture of a rainbow over St. Adalbert's.

We knew things were going very well there, but we didn't know that Fr. Chris Cox, Fr. Scheidler, and the others had done such a good job of developing such harmony in the parish!!!

The picture appear in a local Hispanic publication, El Puente.

Fr. Len Collins has moved from Monterrey, Nuevo León.  He will be pastor of St. Augustine's Church in South Bend.  St. Augustine's Church is an African-American parish.  Len will be living at St. Adalbert's Parish.

In the South, Len has worked at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in New Orleans, the City of St. Jude in Alabama, Our Lady of Sorrows in Houston.  He has also been steward, formation director (both for the province and for the men in San Antonio), as well as assistant provincial and provincial.  He has been director of the postulants' house and superior of the professed seminarians, as well as most recently superior of the Monterrey region.

We are grateful for all he has done, and we wish him well in his new assignment.

Father John Korcsmar and some of the leaders from Austin Interfaith met recently with Dr. Pat Forgionne, the superintendent of the Austin Independent School District.  The goal was to increase coverage of health care insurance for employees of the district.  At present, for a teacher to be able to cover his or her family, he or she must pay 25% of his or her income.  We hope to reduce this and make it possible for the teachers to cover their families at a reasonable cost.
