Souls' Day, known as el día de los muertos. At San Juan Diego, Sr.
Carlota set up an altar with pictures of those whom we wanted to remember in a
special way. Among those whose pictures are there are: Father Cliff Atwood, CSC, Dorothy Korcsmar, and Cameron LeBoeuf. Father Atwood worked to set up what eventually became San Juan Diego Church. He died at Holy Cross House. Dorothy Korcsmar was John Korcsmar's mother. Cameron LeBoeuf was Sr. Carlota's nephew. |

The public library in Montopolis--named Dan E. Ruiz--held an open house to share some of the history of the area. There was music by the "Montopolis Kid," Johnny Degollado and his conjunto. They showed a video on the area; about half the video is on Father Fred Underwood. You can see it at this link: http://www.montopolis-neighborhood.org/ It will take a long time to download, but it is a good movie lasting about 30 minutes.
