Ms. Carmen Cortés-Harms, director of the Immigration Legal Services Program of Catholic Charities of Central Texas, and Fr. John Korcsmar, CSC gave a presentation on how to prepare for raids.  The target audience was priests and parish staffs.  The first one was in Spanish.  There will be a second one in English.

 

Another very important event at Dolores Parish was Sr. Carlota LeBoeuf's 50th birthday.  At lunch, the staff and Brother Thomas from the Bro. André residences all gathered to share pizza and chocolate birthday cake.  A good time was had by all except the pizzas and the cake!

Having been highly trained at the University of Notre Dame, experienced for 34 years as a pastor in Hispanic parishes and working with Mexican-Americans and Mexican immigrants and a few years with a Cajun Holy Cross religious, John carefully chooses his pastoral response to Sr. Carlota's birthday lunch and cake.
