A community of Syro-Malabar Catholics gathers at Dolores Parish on Sunday afternoons.  This Mass was first started by Fr. Paul Pudussery, CSC.  The bishop of this rite came from Chicago to establish the community as an official mission.  Brother Thomas attended the Mass and celebration.

The community is under the patronage of St. Alphonsa, martyr.  She is the first native Indian saint and was recently canonized this last August.

A little further to the south, Fr. Ernie Bartel went to Monterrey to give a presentation on economics and globalization to the CSC seminarians there.  While he was in Mexico, he and Fr. Tom Zurcher went to San Luis Potosi to visit Archbishop Morales.  The archbishop had been pastor of the parish where Tom and other CILA students had worked while they were in college.

"I'm telling you: that fish was THIS BIG!" One of the lads listens attentively.

Father John Korcsmar is on the board of directors for Catholic Charities of Central Texas.  They and many of CCTX's donors met at Bishop Aymond's house for a Christmas dinner.

Bishop Aymond addresses all of the guests at the party.

Esteban Hernández was part of his parents marriage in the Church.  He is an unusual lad.  He came up to Fr. John during the Eucharistic Prayer one time to ask him why God saved us.  He must be a budding theologian.

Father Paul Walmsley, OFM came to Dolores Parish and San Juan Diego Mission to talk about Food for the Poor.  He talked about the needs of the poor, especially in Haiti.  96% of the money collected goes to direct services to the poor.

The Guadalupanas had their annual Christmas dinner at Joy East, a Chinese buffet.  There is quite a range of ages in the group.

The Guadalupanas always invite the pastor and the sisters.  A good time was had by all!

The camera was not very steady, but we were trying to see who had grown more: the beloved pastor or Liviere who is due in April.  Maybe it is a good thing that the picture wasn't too clear.
