The men of Old College and Moreau Seminary took a break from studying for final exams this Saturday and challenged one another to a game of softball. It was a beautiful sunny morning, perfect for a game of softball.

The men of Moreau played as the visiting team and were first up to bat and first to score, bringing in one run after several base hits in the first inning. The men of Old College took an inning or two to warm up but then came out swinging, building up a 12-6 lead several innings into the game.

The men of Moreau were able to stage a solid comeback later in the game tying things up with two innings to go. But in the bottom of the eighth inning the men of Old College were really connecting and brought in five more runs. In the ninth, the men of Moreau had their chance to tie the game, but came up short, sending the men of Old College home victorious.

It was a solid game full of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and good fun. In that, the morning served its purpose, giving the guys a chance to spend time with one another before finals were in full swing and before they all head home for the summer.
